“You’re younger than I thought you’d be but you obviously understand dogs well or they wouldn’t look so good”
I have been working within the dog grooming environment since at school when I needed to gain work experience. From that I continued to help out during holidays and weekends. On leaving school I attended college whilst continuing as a dog grooming assistant.
I so enjoyed my work, I quickly realised it was dog grooming I wanted to do as a career and so attended the “Canine Design Dog Grooming Academy” in Evercreech, Shepton Mallet to gain my City and Guilds level 3 qualification in dog grooming. I continue to keep up to date by regularly attending seminars, workshops and grooming competitions.
I continually strive to keep up to date and attend many seminars, workshops and competitions:
2018
Asian Fusion Grooming Seminar - July 2018 - hosted a seminar on Asian grooming by internationally reknown Asian Fusion dog groomer, Pammie Carmichael-Hogg
Groom Asia 2018 - Intermediate wool coat class - awarded one of only five special awards as “Gentlest Handler” - held in Doncaster
2017
Mastergroom 2017 – competed in the workshop class
South West Grooming Competition – 3rd – Workshop class
2016
Mastergroom 2016 – competed in newcomer/student class (an International Dog Grooming competition held in Coventry).
1 day training workshop – 1:2:1 with Tina Ogborn in Wincanton – How to groom difficult complex cuts.
I have five dogs myself, 3 Shih Tzus, a Pomeranian and a Toy Poodle, all with very different personalities and each has something different I can call on. For example Sherman has helped another nervous Shih Tzu to relax and sat with him throughout his groom.

Harmony Hounds Dog Grooming will provide a high standard dog groom at affordable prices.
Dogs will be groomed primarily by appointment with a pre-consultation (which takes approximately 30 minutes) provided to ensure dog owner’s expectations are realised and achieved. The service will be provided in a calm and clean environment where the dog’s well-being will be the top priority.
I provide the following services:
Clipping
Trimming
Shampooing and styling services
Dogs will be groomed using two washes in a good quality shampoo, using approved equipment, experience and knowledge to ensure the safety and welfare of each dog.
Not all grooming salons provide two washes but by washing twice you ensure the coat is fully conditioned and thoroughly cleaned.
Other services available:
Dematting
Nail clipping
Ear care
Stripping by hand
Parasite removal
I supply various grooming accessories
and items to aid the
in the upkeep of the dog’s coat plus a range of grooming accessories, toys and
treats.
Demel'ex dematting spray
Bows
Water absorbant towels
Competitively priced
I provide a high standard of service and excellent
dog grooms therefore providing excellent value for money.
Flexible
Although I work mostly on an appointment basis I am aware
appointments sometimes need to change and can move appointments to suit.
Reliable
I am reliable in that I very rarely move bookings unless
absolutely necessary. I ensure regular customers are booked in advance, especially
around Christmas.
Unhurried
I always like to provide a groom to the highest standard
and can assure customers that their dog is both well cared for and groomed extremely
well. Each dog has an individual appointment so receive lots of attention and
I encourage visits for dogs to adjust to the environment before being groomed.
I love dogs
My interest and love of dogs is very obvious and my
clients recognise this and again, this builds up trust. I take an interest in
the dog’s behaviour and health and treat all my customers’ dogs as my own.
I am a perfectionist and strive to provide an exceptional service by creating a relaxed and loving atmosphere for all of the dogs that visit me so that owners can feel confident that their dogs are being groomed and looked after by a caring and experienced groomer.
Prices will depend on the condition of the dog’s coat – a full assessment beforehand is also recommended and provided.
